Recently we have been hearing in the news that many NFL, NHL and NBA athletes are donating their brains to science to study the effects of concussions and head injury. The research is focusing on chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE), also known as dementia pugilistica, a neurological disorder caused by multiple blows to the head. Early signs of CTE include light-headedness and depression and progress to memory impairment, emotional instability or erratic behavior. In this fascinating episode Bobbie talks about our hormone circuitry and what we can do to assist our own brain repair.
