Jeremy Williams, Head of Pension Risk at the Daily Mail and General Trust (DMGT) Pensions Office, talks about De-risking Longevity in the European context. He begins by discussing how the financial crisis has changed the challenges faced in his industry. De-risking is something the pensions community has been talking about a lot in the last few years, and here Jeremy offers his views on exactly how far pensions custodians have moved in adopting solutions to address this issue. He then outlines which aspects of the DMGT scheme he would prioritise for de-risking and where longevity fits into this, before offering his projections on a tradable longevity swaps market and the future of the longevity de-risking market. Finally, he tells us which pension sponsors he admires when it comes to leading the way with de-risking their scheme efficiently. Jeremy Williams will be speaking at the European De-Risking Longevity Forum, due to take place in London from 29th to 30th November.
