North Carolina Teaching Fellows is an aggressive teacher recruitment program.  It recruits top academic talent from High Schools all over North Carolina and awards candidates scholarships to public colleges.  In return, teaching fellows are asked to commit to at least four years of teaching in the North Carolina public school system.  The program has achieved marked success over the its 25 years of existence, but is now facing uncertainty due to large state deficits and necessary budget cuts.

In this episode, we give details and background on the program and our take on why the state of North Carolina should continue to support the program.
