                                                                  Valuing the Black Father

For decades the myth of the absent Black father has been ever present in culture of the American media and mainstream.  The reality however it that Black fathers are not only present but accessible to their children in a multitude of ways.

Dr. Waldo Johson joins Dr. T in the BULLPEN to explain the ways that Black Fathers are accessible, how we benefit from their presence in the home and school, and why some still presume they aren't around.   Dr. Waldo E. Johnson, Jr.,  is Associate Professor, School of Social Service Administration and Faculty Affiliate, Center for the Study of Race, Politics and Culture of the University of Chicago.
