During this last part of the year, we raise our awareness of issues such as domestic violence and BC awareness. Before we begin the specific discussions, we want to examine the roles we play that may open the way to illness and abuse. There are the obvious ones and there are the ones we act out daily without thinking. How are we inviting illness and dysfunctional relationships into our lives? How do the things we think and do every day keep us focused on not being well? How does our belief system work to bind us to an unhealthy lifestyle? Is our belief system a product of our own thoughts or has it been passed down with generations of unquestioned dysfunction and chaos?

When we engage an issue, such as domestic violence, breast cancer or HIV/AIDS, do we focus on ‘the victims’ and the sadness? Do we blame ‘the victims’? Separate ourselves from “the victims”. If we have first hand experience, do we tell empowering or heart wrenching stories about it?  Is our engagement all about sadness and loss? Do you just want to ‘help’ these poor victims?

Join us for the first segment in our “Journey to Wellness” series when we will examine the role we play to promote or detract from our own wellness.
