Michael Charles Givens has dedicated his life to serving God and helping those with addictions. Born & raised in New Orleans, LA before moving to Northern California. Mike joined the Oakland, CA Police Department where he worked for 10 yrs as a police officer.

After leaving OPD, Mike fell into the deep dark hole of drug addiction and homelessness and was arrested several times for petty crimes. After nearly losing his life, Mike walked away from that life and has not looked back. 

Fast forward 2012 Mike is now a successful Author and Speaker. He facilitates a weekly workshop "Celebrate Recovery" as well as speaks at various organizations to foster community awareness.  

Mikes generosity goes beyond talking the talk into walking the walk. The proceeds from his book 'The dopeless Hope Fiend' go toward purchasing more of the title in order to give them away at recovery centers. Visit the link to learn more.
