Today i am reminded of our Physical Mortality and the Eternal Nature of our words and what we do as Poets, Writers and whatever else life would have of us.

His words were Revolutionary, Caustic, Empowering and Enlightening. With the speaking from his soul he was able to touch Generations, and he still does. The Power of his words shall live on in many a heart, Mind and Soul and give rise to consciousness to listen, observe and speak. Brother Gil did.

I often wonder as a Poet, what will be our epitaph? What will Human Beings who have Heard our Messages, Read our Writings say about us in the years to come. And yes, in the end, the only thing that lives forever is the Spirit of a Man as it touches the Spirit of others, who in turn touch others with that light ad infinitum.

And yes, though the Revolution will not be televised, we will witness change as we have done in our journey here. We will if blessed get to see the impact of our words as Brother Gil has done. And through it all whether we are aware are not, we must speak on. As Gil said...”we got to do something to save the Children, for soon it will be their turn to save the world!” And NOW is our turn my Children... NOW !

I am so humbled and yet thankful to have lived in this “Once Upon a Time” Land and to have been infected by such a Light. And that Light is none other than my Brother, Fellow Poet Extraordinaire, Revolutionary, Messenger, Activist and Spokesperson for many a Soul who could not speak their Thoughts and Feeling . . . Gil Scott Heron.

Thank you for you Love of Humanity and having the Courage to Speak for us all!

Blessings in your New Journey . . . for though it may seem like we lost a Great Light, the Heavens has gained another Bright Star that will continue to shine on the ways, Thoughts and Hearts of Man.

Thank you Brother Gil for a Job well done.
