Originally from South Carolina, Tamika survived a physically, sexually and emotionally abusive relationship of eight years. She did not let this stop her; it was her passion to see others rescued from the pain of abuse that led her to share her own story. In 2011, Sims released her debut novel “The Plus Factor.” Her efforts were rewarded not only by the lives she touched, but also in 2012 when she won the “BWABC Literacy Rocks! Author Award.”  She was featured as a 2015 Powerful Woman during the SC Girl Scouts Troop Mountains to Midlands Powerful Woman Summit. Tamika is 1/6th of a powerful group of women who have created the SC Empowerment Tour.

Tamika launched Ink Pen Diva Manuscript Critique Services, LLC to support new and veteran authors in critiquing their manuscript and other writings. Taking business one step further, Tamika launched a writer’s group coaching program to give participants complete knowledge in writing and publishing their book from conception to completion.

Tamika has served as an expert in the areas of domestic violence and sexual assaultfor numerous NBC, FOX, CBS affiliates and numerous radio stations.
