National Autism Awareness Month was created in the 1970s to highlight the growing need for concern and awareness about autism. Inez Bracy, Lifestyle Transitions Coach and host, will discuss the impact of autism on families with a panel of three experts.

Robin Shipley, MS is a behavior consultant who has treated children and adolescents with autism and Asperger’s Syndrome for over 12 years. Robin has extensive experience providing intervention to countless families and their children with ASD and developmental disabilities. She consults globally with school districts, foundations and families in developing behavior based programs.  She developed and conducted a variety of staff and parent workshops to support the effective implementation of meaningful treatment programs.

Mo Bailey, MCC is a non-traditional Advocacy “coach-sultant”.   Her proficiency focuses on the high-functioning population of the Autism Spectrum with subtle, yet significant “hidden” disabilities that most commonly fall through the cracks.  Ms. Bailey has participated in a six person panel to train California state Judges in the area of special needs in education and due process hearings. She’s been coined the “Asperger’s Whisperer” .

Dr. Cherri Cary provides support as well as social and political advocacy for parents and individuals with developmental disabilities. She completed her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a special interest in grief experiences of parents, followed by counseling and teaching parents living in shelters, she thought she understood the stresses of “extreme parenting”.   When her own toddler was diagnosed with autism she became involved in the parent support community and learned first-hand about the process of ‘reorganization and reinvestment’ families face as they strive to maximize their child’s potential.
