Born an Irish-Iranian-New Yorker, David “Shak” Shakiban has been a lifelong lover of creativity, connection, and community. In 1993, after obtaining an education from the Visual and Performing Arts School at Syracuse University where he majored in Film Art, David moved from New York to the San Francisco Bay Area in pursuit of his passion for improvisational jam music (and more sun!). By day, David works as a producer and has created a company called Colorgrooves Studios, offering performance, production, and promotion services to musical artists. David also has a web development company called Colorgrooves Creative, and he offers a number of affordable and comprehensive website packages to creatives, independent practitioners, and small to medium sized businesses. David is married to the Bombgoddess, Melissa Hall, and they have 2 little girls – Kanga Sunshine, their part time pup, and Azazia Moonlight, their full time cat. They live in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Musician As a musician, David has been playing guitar for 20 years, and he has recorded and performed with numerous projects all over the Bay Area. David’s current project, Shakiban, is a culmination of years of jam band style improvisation with more modern electronically produced beats and loops. Visit his website at www.shakiban.com
