Understanding the soul

The whole purpose of redemption was to reverse the damaging effect of the fall. It was the soul (mind, will, emotions) that was empowered by the will of Satan (the serpent) in the Garden of Eden. Genesis 3:6 gives us a clear picture of a soul fully activated and elevated ‘And when the woman saw that the tree [was] good for food, and that it [was] pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make [one] wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.’
