Everyone faces the risk of natural disasters. Living without the threat of floods, tornadoes, hurricanes, thunderstorms and lightning, blizzards, earthquakes, wildfires, landslide, tsunamis, terrorism, chemical and oil spills is impossible.

But, what is much more of a disaster is facing these natural occurrences without a plan to protect yourself, your family and your home.

Natalie Grant of the Boston Public Health Commission and Boston Emergency Medical Services will join hosts Byllye Avery and Ngina Lythcott to provide a step-by-step approach to disaster preparedness by walking listeners through how to develop an emergency plan, what items you should include in your disaster supplies kit, how to assist children, elderly and people with disabilities in the time of an emergency and how to locate emergency public shelters in your area.

This show will be pre-recorded so we will not take any questions or comments via email or phone. Please mark your calendars to listen to this show – one that could help save your life – on Wednesday, May 4, 2011, at 2 p.m. EST!
