Ramadan is the month in which was sent down from Allah, a Mercy and Guide for human kind. Just like water purifies the dry earth and brings forth life, the Qur'an the same way will purify our life if we are constantly following the guidance of Allah. And the Qur'an can also bring life out of spiritual death back into spiritual life. The Qur'an is said to be sent from Allah on the Night of Power. This night was at a time when the world was in total spiritual darkness like the world is today. The Guidance of Allah in the Qur'an gives spiritual birth to a spiritually dead world of people. The human race was about to end. The Qur'an gave the world back human life in spiritual love. Without Allah's Love, nothing can live. So, the Qur'an is life for every created thing. One of the titles of the Qur'an is "The Clear Evidence", wherein there is no doubt Allah, The Lord of the worlds. So, the world today has, in part, destroyed itself because it turned its back and turned away from its Creator. Our only protector is Allah. Most people seek pleasure in material things and most people have forgotten that the material things in this material world are useless and will not last. Allah also says that during this blessed month of Ramadan, He sent His book, the Holy Qur'an, down to the people as a cure for the diseases in their hearts. This is the month of healing the mind, body and soul. Allah only accepts our good. He doesn't accept our bad. Allah says strive as in a race towards all that is good. This will bring us closer to Allah. And brothers and sisters, live this Ramadan as though it is your last because it may be that Allah will send the Angels of death for your soul this Ramadan.
