Dr. Wilson is a board certified cardiologist with a special interest in stress and its effects on cardiovascular health and disease. He attended the University of Wisconsin Medical School, and did his residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota, where he stayed on to do his cardiology training. He served as Chief of Cardiology and Chairman of Medical Education at Columbia Hospital and directed the University of Pittsburgh Heart Institute.Dr. Wilson began working with the Institute of HeartMath in 1997 while searching for a scientifically valid and measurable method of reducing stress in his cardiac patients. He helped to develop their Health Care Division in 1998. He has lectured nationally and internationally on the topic of stress and using the HeartMath tools to reduce it, thereby improving health as well as performance. Dr. Wilson is the author of HeartMath Approach to Managing Hypertension..Stress is killing us, and we all know it. Dr. Bruce Wilson, will discuss the scientific research behind the human stress response and the consequences of living with this physiology in today's world. He will describe how stress creates alterations in our internal chemistry, which play a role in many diseases, especially heart disease.
