Mitchell Goldberg is the father of two teenage girls.He began his refugee and immigration law practice in 1990 after volunteering for a human rights organization in Guatemala. He is a founder and Vice President of the Canadian Association of Refugee Lawyers. a member of the executive of the Canadian Bar Association’s (CBA) Québec Immigration Section, the Immigration Committee of the Quebec Bar Association.Mitchell was the spokesperson for the national CBA executive on the Balanced Refugee Reform Act, and appeared before the House and the Senate committees reviewing the bill. He has also testified before both the House of Commons and Senate on behalf of the Quebec Bar Association, as well as the Canadian Council for Refugees.Mitchell’s Montreal law practice focuses on immigration and refugee litigation, family sponsorships and humanitarian and compassionate considerations. He regularly represents clients before all three divisions of the Immigration and Refugee Board, as well as the Federal Court.Mitchell is a strong believer in the principles of equality, refugee protection, multiculturalism, and human rights. He is also passionate about experiencing nature and protecting the environment.
