Great pains were taken to make sure that Jeremy Pelt gets his due HERE. Having watched and heard him for years now, this radio host MARVELS at his evolution. He is the kind of introspective trumpeter that gives you chills. His ear for the past is on fire. So is his desire to carve his niche - so that future fans can hear him and identify his playing immediately. Hey, he OWNS that niche already!

Background. Our guest studied classical trumpet as a child - so he and his instrument are ONE. Because he has an "unquenchable" curiosity about music - its roots and form - many have placed him in a category that a musician doesn't acquire in his 40's. Legend. He might disagree but this is MY bio FOR him :)  Jeremy Pelt is rare.

There are a myriad of respected Jazz artists who know Jeremy, have worked with him, and fully appreciate what he contributes to the genre. Some of those have been guests on the show: Rene Marie, Kathy Kosins, Joanna Pascale and Ravi Coltrane. Amazing greatness, having left us in physical form, gave the spirit of their gift to this talent. Keter Betts, Cedar Walton, Jimmy Heath, Frank Foster. If you were to ask the inspiring Wayne Shorter about Jeremy, he'd tell you. So would those who know him via the Lewis Nash Septet, the Duke Ellington Big Band and the Mingus Big Band. OR The Black Art Jazz Collective. We will most assuredly discuss THAT profound endeavor when Jeremy visits on 6/24/2020.

ALL of these collaborations and projects have popped and sizzled because Jeremy Pelt has been involved. But it's his OWN work, going back a year short of two decades, that have enabled him to enjoy a fabulous reputation. www.jeremypelt.net tells the story. And we're counting on him being FULL of more. Join us in the Chat Room for great music and conversation - with a guest I am proud to welcome.
