When many of us heard "Soul Eyes" in 2016, we seriously had no clue how to act. Here's this young woman, sounding as if she has lived a thousand years, pouring her heart into music that we thought we had lost. To say that Kandace Springs is an Old Soul may be an understatement.

It may be because she absorbed a full menu of sounds, growing up in Nashville. Dad is Scat Springs, a beloved and respected session singer in Music City. He knew his daughter had a "gift" at a young age. But little Kandace felt uncomfortable singing. As much as Pop persuaded her, it wasn't until he gave her "Come Away With Me" by Norah Jones that she felt the spark of discovery. THAT'S what she wanted to do!

Good LORD, has our Goddess covered some ground since those days. Gigs in her hometown fueled her confidence. As a teen, she was offered a record deal which Scat nixed. She had a chance to audititon for that deal AGAIN - in front of Don Was at Blue Note - and he signed her. The song that grabbed him: "I Can't Make You Love Me" - which DON had produced, along with Bonnie Raitt. How's that for Kismet?!

Prince heard her sing "Stay With Me" on You Tube and contacted her. He told her that she had a "voice that could melt snow." And invited her to sing at his 30th anniversary show at Paisley Park. Larry Klein, world-renowned producer, became an instant fan, too. He produced "Soul Eyes" and now her new "The Women Who Raised Me." Which offers a strong glimpse into the inspirations that paved the way for Kandace to blossom.

We'll hear about those divine, non-coincidental connections when we interview this FORCE of nature on Tuesday, May 12th. The delicious mix of songs on this third project will enchant - and surprise you!  You'll FEEL what you hear. I promise. Join us in The Chat Room on 5/12. It will be MEMORABLE :)
