Our mutual friend, Dan Fortune, brought this incredible talent to the attention of yours truly.  Spencer Day has been amazing audiences with his exceptional gift for quite a while now.  That voice POPPED on national TV in 2002 - 2003 when "Star Search" was on CBS.

Albums followed and each one garnered a new star for our guest.  Having had a myriad of influences since childhood, Spencer's Jazz is mingled with bravery and Broadway and Chet Baker meets Paul Simon.  Which is how he has described his style :)  He also has a special love for Roy Orbison.  You can hear SO much inspiration and joy in his voice - you can also hear questioning and heartache.  Spencer's new work, called "Angel City", reflects on life in Los Angeles. Talk about questions - there are MANY here - and posed beautitfully.

We're going to learn a LOT about this singer, songwriter, and activist.  Let's thrown into that mix philanthropist - this gentleman has done so much to alleviate the pain of others.  It's no wonder his music has the ring of truth.  Because he lives his LIFE that way.

There has been some delightful success in previous projects ("Daybreak", for example, debuted at #1 on the iTunes Jazz Chart) - but this NEW effort is going to draw fabulous new fans to Spencer's already large musical "family."  A listen to "Angel City" and you'll hear the fearless and feisty creativity of a soul who has has found his way in a wacky but frequently wonderful world.  We've created a special time for the show - the first in October.  Noon on 10/2.  Spencer joins me at ONE Eastern.  The music?  Exquisite.  Inspired by our guest.  Expect to be surprised!
