Matthew Shell is no stranger to "Hybrid Jazz" - he has visited the show more than once.  Each time, there has been an absolute party atmosphere involved - the best kind.  Because anyone who has joined Matthew for the episode has ALSO been on fire for the music :)  That's what this artist/producer/engineer/instructor does: he encourages creativity and infuses others with enthusiasm and the desire to exceed expectations.  He's still a young man but has the wisdom of someone much older.  And what he has accomplished up 'til now is extraordinary!

Matthew has had a hand in many projects, in many genres, with a LOT of varied artists.  From Marcus Johnson to Carolyn Malachi to Selena Gomez and more.  On "First Light", he has again brought together some superb musicians.  We frequently say "Labor of Love" in our society - but this time?  It really IS!  The whole album was to honor Terra, Matthew's wife.  She had endured depression and frustration at her job - but found another that changed her whole demeanor.  Her spirit soared again and her husband couldn't help but take notice.  And rejoice WITH her.  Hence, "First Light." :)

Beautiful artists contributed to the ambience of this soul-stirring tribute.  Kenny Wesley, Vahagn Stepanyan, Yoed Nir, Curtis McCain and the Grammy-winning Wouter Kellerman - they are all here.  In glorious fashion.  With a bonus song that will make you FEEL the upcoming holiday season.  From Zane Latta - who will join us on 11/1 - as will Sweet Spot recording studio's Nico Laget!

Revel in the music as we begin November.  Allow yourself to feel the magic!
