The initial connection that I had with Javier Colon was through Matt Cusson.  Matt is another of those supremely talented singer/songwriters who partnered with Javier a long time ago.  Dig through some You Tube videos and feast your ears :)

Fast forward to the debut of "The Voice" and you probably remember the excitement of everyone associated with it.  Nobody more than Javier Colon.  He had been through some record label wars and had suffered strong disappointment - but he never gave up that his dream would come true.  And it DID - he was the first WINNER on this still wildly popular show.  Matter-of-fact, Javier just visited his pals - one of them still remains a golf buddy, Adam Levine.

We're focusing on this amazing talent for two reasons: one is that he has a new album called "Gravity."  It means a lot to Javier because his new label, Concord, gave him serious creative control - which he has hankered to have for quite some time.  Another reason for our visit is because he is coming to Ram's Head in Annapolis in early May - so we're having our get-together just before then: perfect!

This is a breathtaking artist, full of passion and energy and nuance.  His tracks on "Gravity" will leave you craving intimate moments and truths told in the dark.  See what he does to your radio host here? ;)  Don't take my word for the effect that Javier Colon has - ask Stevie Nicks or Darius Rucker or the Indigo Girls - or even Derek Trucks, with whom Javier spent many a mile on tour as vocalist.  All of the above have worked with this beautiful soul and they KNOW how special his gift is.  Going back to "The Voice" - do you remember when all four judges turned around during Javier's initial performance? That's a rarity  But so is HE.  You already know.  See you on Javier's Birthday: 4/29!
