This is the kind of guy that Dan Cipriano is. When we originially scheduled our interview, he had to cancel - because he was in the hospital with a family member. That told a lot about his music AND about the man. Some of us are of the mindset that beautiful people create authentic and frequently anointed sounds for the universe that translate beauty into...well, some kind of audio healing :)
Dan has been working HARD for years, let it be said. Contributing energy and a positive vibe to whoever has been blessed to play alongside of him. Should we tell you WHO? Wilson Pickett: check out the documentary called "Only the Strong Survive." Or the Barry Levinson film, "Poliwood." Sting was in that - with Dan (second smiley face here). Also within our guest's world: Sam Moore, Bruce Springsteen, Elvis Costello, Bonnie Raitt, Joan Jett, Fourplay, George Thorogood, and a crazy OTHER list that will just make us seem as though we're LYING! LOL!
This incredible multi-instrumentalist is also a composer and arranger. And a strong teacher. He loves to pass along his knowledge of his artistry - and he loves live performance. He's incredible at it. One of those who can attest to that is Dave Letterman. Another is his powerfully talented wife, trumpeter Cindy Bradley.
Cindy's on "First Impressions" - as well as friends Bernie Williams and Gil Parris. You KNOW, then, that this project is popping, right? You'll hear it. You'll FEEL it. It's what Dan Cipriano does. And because it's HIM, we're starting this episode early to accommodate him. Twelve NOON on 4/12 - which happens to be Letterman's birthday. Hey, it's a sign!
See you in The Chat Room.
