Last year, yours truly had a chance to communicate with the sunshine that is Tim Watson - even thinking about him causes a burst of smile.  He wanted to make sure that "Up & At 'Em" was heard.  And he wanted feedback from the hearing.  What a pleasure to be able to say that I loved it!

Listen, it would be enough that so many favorite Contemporary Jazz musicians shared space with Tim here.  Jeanette Harris, Phil Davis and Ragan Whiteside to name a few!  But this very talented keyboardist/composer could have handled all of this music on his own - and I'd STILL be raving about it.  This is buzzworthy stuff.  Because of that aforementioned sunshine :)

Tim is originally from Chicago - so pardon him if that Windy City Blues and Soul infiltrate his imaginative fingers.  Living in North Carolina now, the lay-back comes into play.  So, what you're hearing on his latest album is organic and authentic.  He started this journey in 2002 with "Soultopia" - then followed that with "Sunday Afternoon" a few years later.  A Christmas album is part of Tim's resume, too.  There have been jingles for the Weather Channel, worship melodies, and narratives that have all had that Tim Watson vibe.  Building blocks that have paved the way for the delicious period of NOW - when long-time and new fans come together for his CD that's getting so much attention.

Tim is joining us on 3/22 - AT TWO (we have to play those numbers!)  2015 was a good year for our guest - that's when "Up & At 'Em" dropped.  But 2016 is proving to be equally fabulous.  He's reaping the seeds that he has sowed.  Elegant, thoughtful, fun, and fearless music - with blissful wearability.  Trust and believe THAT.  Mr. Sunshine is always close by, so my grateful ears can hear him.
