Jaared is no stranger to "Hybrid Jazz" - or to any radio program that yours truly has hosted in the past several years.  He was our first guest on THIS endeavor - in August of 2011 - and he's probably the artist with the most visits of ANY (okay, maybe Slim Man's in that company, too!).

This multiple talent is not only the consummate musician, but he is a friend.  And it's wonderful to see him experience the fabulous changes that are happening in his already magical life.  As you probably know, Jaared has had international success - to say that he has shared the stage with so-and-so doesn't even matter - the truth IS that anytime any artist has shared the stage with HIM - it makes THEM sound better!  That's how good a saxophonist he is.  And let's not even talk about the collective sighing that ensues when he SINGS!

Something you may not know about Jaared: when he was a child, his asthma was critical.  A wise Doctor told the family that a wind instrument would help save his lungs.  Jaared chose the the alto sax.  You're seeing the silver lining here :)  Through the years, Jaared also mastered the soprano and tenor saxes - and learned how to repair them, too.

NOW, life has taken him to a new fork in the road - he has been taking lessons from the great Billiard champ, Earl Strickland.  Already extremely proficient at pool, Jaared is gearing up for championships and his excitement is palpable!  Figuring into this new energy is a big MUSIC night coming soon in the shadow of his native Washington, D.C.  Our man of the hour is going to play a gig with the wonderful Attila Molnar!  And we'll get the details.  We'll also hear some vintage music from Jaared.  Expect to hear subjects, too - from chief inspiration, David Sanborn - to what lies ahead in 2014.  The fun begins at ONE!
