A busy Tuesday in late April!  We have a Washington, D.C., based guitarist/bassist/saxophonist featured first.  At the top of the second hour, Earl Carter discusses his new project, "Welcome Back, Carter!"  Having known this multi-gifted talent for several years, it's a pleasure to watch his star rise way past the Mid-Atlantic.  He recently completed his fifth three-month stint in Ethiopia, where he plays at the five-star Sheraton Addis.  Earl was handpicked by one of the wealthiest men in the world, Sheikh Mohammed Hussein Al-Amoud, to be his most prestigious hotel band.  Now back home, Earl is prepping for his CD release party, where he will no doubt gather some of those with whom he has shared the stage.  Speaking of which, some of those include Angela Bofill, Pieces of a Dream, Spyro Gyra - and the best of Go Go, Soul and Jazz acts in the country.  A front man as well as side, our friend is also known as a "go-to" Producer in the region.

You are probably not a stranger to the name Brian Simpson! The popular keyboardist/composer/studio musician has been immersed in the contemporary Jazz scene since he graduated from Northern Illinois University.  Moving to L.A., he found musical kinship with Norman Brown and Everette Harp, among others.  And took breaks from his serious intent on Jazz to tour with Teena Marie, Sheena Easton and Janet Jackson.  In the 90's, he wrote the #1 hit for Surface, "The First Time" - and that's the decade when we glimpsed the foreshadowing of the Simpson Sound that was emerging.  "Just What You Need" is dropping on April 23rd, 2013 - and that's the sentiment that many have regarding Brian - including Dave Koz, who has employed our guest as Musical Director for over a decade.  Brian will be coming to Rehoboth Beach for his release party, but will spend time with us before he does - join us :)
