Hybrid Jazz From Trish Hennessey - with Ken Navarro!

There's a whole lot to say about an artist who is the pride of Maryland - but I'll let the music speak for him.  20 CDS later, here's Ken Navarro with a magical new project that - again - sets him apart from those playing guitar.  With Ken, it's magnified to an art form that few can create.

"The Test of Time" is so appropriately named...some familiar and beloved songs - some not as familar but that will become favorites - all done via this methodology: Ken's melodies, bass lines, harmonies and percussion are played simultaneously on one guitar - with no overdubbing!

This former L.A. session player and composer has performed with some of television's household names: Doc Severinsen, Nell Carter, Ann Jillian and Vicki Carr.  Forging ahead with his own work in 1990, Ken has never had to look back.  His success in Contemporary Jazz is beyond admirable - those of us who worked in "Smooth Jazz" or those who appreciate the sub-genre know his name by heart.  "You Are Everything" and "Smooth Sensation" come to mind - the whole of "Love Coloured Soul" in 2005.  A few years later, "The Grace of Summer Light" was named the Best Contemporary Album by the Jazz Times. 

Completely elegant, airy, compelling and accessible, Ken Navarro has turned out another work that sets the bar high.  The Police, Glen Campbell and John Lennon won't sound the same after you hear Ken's takes on some signature songs!  And that's all I'm saying...
