The Bible says in Proverbs, 13:24, "He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him." Other passages that mention the 'rod' are Proverbs 23:14, "Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell," and Proverbs 29:15 says, "The rod and reproof give wisdom: but a child left to himself bringeth his mother to shame."

Today, we hear and see more and more cases of abuse to children at the hands of parents who take things way too far.  There are cases of parents who whip or beat their children in front of cameras and post these images to the internet, for wearing sagging or tight skinny jeans.  We see parents strap, pin or hang signs on their children and put them on a public street to promote shame to the child for receiving bad grades in school and other infractions.  … the list goes on and on.

No matter what the parenting style, we must take into strong consideration the possible damage these discipline styles may cause the child, as well as the consequences the parent may face.

We invite you to join us for this highly controversial issue…
