The Refugee Crisis- why America can't afford to make a mistake

The refugee crisis is the biggest foreign relations issue America has had since the illegal Mexican immigration crisis. America has always been a welcoming country for legal immigration, and showing compassion towards people from other countries, but since 9/11 and various terrorist attacks, America must excercise sound judgement because the reasons we are proposing to refuse these people is not because of lack of compassion, but to protect ourselves..America's number one priority is to protect ourseves, and if we must refuse people, it is not because of bigotry, or lack of compassion, it is to preserve our own best interests
