Where to begin? Since the Howitzer and Buzz-saw Show last went off the air, one of, and quite possibly, the most horrific scandal in sports history has run rampant over literally every media outlet possible. This is one of those stories that transcends the game and becomes the news headline on CNN and FOX News as well as ESPN. The allegations are concise and stunning. Former Pennsylvania State University defensive genius, Jerry Sandusky has been charged with child molestation of many victims dating back almost two decades. These actions are even said to have taken place at the holy grounds of Penn State. No one is safe from criticism and second guessing, not even the great Joe Paterno. The NCAA all-time wins leader and the man that has roomed the PSU sidelines for half of a century, has now been fired and forced to end one of the most illustrious coaching careers in sports. The current student body took to the streets of their "Happy Valley" and rioted in protest and support of their one and only "Joe Pa." Did Paterno do enough? Was his dismissal necessary and handled appropriately? How could this all have gone on for so long? Are there others to blame? How can this be resolved in a positive way? Debates on child abuse, sex crimes, and football's importance, or lack there of, have created household divides and rocked the foundation of the NCAA and a storied academic and athletic institution. The rest of the sports world will be examined following the PSU talk. Expect things to boil over. George "the Howitzer" Gerbo and Mike "the Buzz-saw" Asti always come at you with knowledge, charisma, humor, and passion, while conquering sports radio, one day, at a time....
