ICDO hosted a one-day summit December 2, 2009 in New Orleans, ahead of the 51st American Society of Hematology (ASH) Annual Meeting. Sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical, Research & Development, LLC and OrthoBiotech, the summit is intended to foster awareness and understanding of Castleman’s Disease (CD), a rare disorder characterized by non-cancerous growths that develop in the lymph node tissue at a single site or throughout the body. An international panel of medical experts were present to discuss diagnosis and treatment options. Several patients provided their perspective on living with the disease.
