When Earvin "Magic" Johnson announced to the world that he was HIV-positive, many thought that this would be a wake up call to the world that AIDS was not just a "homosexual" disease that affects only the gay community. This disease had now affected the lives of the heterosexual community. Moreover, the African American communities.
To this day, with everything that is known about HIV, how its spread and how to keep yourself from becoming at risk, many people continue to ignore the this information and continue to practice safe sex. Especially, in the African American communities.
