In a speech at George Washington University to explain the historical role of democratic socialism in American politics. Bernie Sanders argued that it’s time to complete the “unfinished business” of Franklin Delano Roosevelt's New Deal Program which created new agencies such as the Works Progress Administration. In his speech Sanders points out the New Deal was charged with guaranteeing good education, jobs and living wages (With help of the WPA). Sanders believes them to be inalienable rights. Then on Thursday Democrats demanded Trump adviser KellyAnne Conway be removed under what is known as the Hatch Act - which was passed to keep Federal employees in the Executive branch from engaging in certain activities to Prevent Pernicious Political Activities which might be unlawful. Any chance Bernie Sanders knows that the Hatch Act was passed in 1939 to stem the tide of corruption in FDR's WPA? And this is the type of federal program he wishes for and laments as 'Unfinished business."
