Welcome I am Grover Weaver your minister and Sunday School teacher; with our bibles and books open to Leviticus 23:33 “And the Lord spake unto Moses saying, Speak unto the  children of Israel saying , the fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles for seven days unto the Lord’’.

189 animals were sacrificed during this week of celebration; the feast was to begin ‘’when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land’’, verse 39; and conclude with a holy convocation in verse 36; during these seven days the people were to eat, live, sleep and worship in booths or huts made with boughs (Neb. 8:14-18) or branches of palms, willows,or other native trees, verse 42. It served as a reminder of the way in which the Israelites wandered about in the wilderness after the Exodus, living in tents and temporary shelter. God had provided for them by bringing them out of Egypt and through the wilderness, verse 43. Thus, the Feast of the Tabernacles marked the climax of the religious year when a thankful people enter fully in the anticipated promises, resting fully in the God who hands supplied their need.
