International Sunday School Acts 5:27-29,33-42 wk of 09-20-15 by Grover Weaver

Hello everybody I am Grover weaver and this is the Grover Weaver Ministries Sunday School Class live on the Web. Welcome to this week lesson in Acts 5:27-29, 33-42.

In chapter 5 of Acts you have the death of Ananias & Sapphira a husband and wife who lied to the Holy Spirit. The death of this devilish couple flipped the church and all who knew of their death from a lukewarm spirituality to a deep reverential fear of the Lord.

The signs and wonders done by the apostles flipped the political base of the Jews in Jerusalem from conservative to progressive...

And they suffered persecution for their faith.

Not like the so-called persecution by the conservative church who want the government to use her police power to force their faith on you and take your rights and freedom away so they can have freedom of consciousness...

V27-29 the men are being question before the council by the high priest, if you remember in the last class they were on trial for doing the  same thing...

V33 The disciples spoke up

Gamaliel, in V34-39, a renowned teacher on the council, a Pharisee spoke up...

V40 They heeded the advice of their teacher, Gamaliel, to not take their lives...

V41 & 42 the apostles went away rejoicing that they were worthy to suffer shame in his name.
