International Sunday School Commentary on 2 John 1-13 for the week of 04-26-15

This is my weekly International Sunday School on 2 John 1-13: V.1: Is a salutation of love unto ‘’the elders and the elect lady and her children’’ of this church. V.2 & 3: are a prayer offered ‘’in truth and love’’. V.4-6: are a gateway to the Law of Moses and Law of Christ. The law of Moses was about demanding love and the law of Christ is love.

Verses 7-11 in 2 John are an alert and a warning of the Deceiver and the Antichrist as of 1 John chp 4 v.1, ‘’Beloved, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits whether they are of God; because many false prophets are gone out into the world’’. V.8 Tells us to ‘’look to yourselves what you have been given and do not take less even if someone come from heaven preaching another Jesus. V.9 Tell us you is or you aint; you will or you wont; now, I know that’s not good english and your point is well taken -- You are in Christ or you are not in Christ; V.10 & 11 If there come any...bring not this doctrine...receive him not in your home...V.12 & 13 Christ’s closest friend on earth concludes his 2nd letter to the church desiring to write more but saving it until he can speak face to face
