Social justice is also a concept that is used to describe  movement towards a socially just world where  social justice is based on the concepts of human rights and equality, and can be defined as "the way in which human rights are manifested in the everyday lives of people at every level of society. Some people question if affordable access to health care is part of social justice, especially for low income households and families. Such a discussion raises questions as to whether society should bear healthcare costs for low income families, and whether the global marketplace is the best way to distribute healthcare.

Social work is a practical profession aimed at helping people address their problems and matching them with the resources they need to lead healthy and productive lives. Beneath this practicality lies a strong value system that can be summarized  as social justice. Social justice is the view that everyone deserves equal economic, political and social rights and opportunities. Social workers aim to open the doors of access and opportunity for everyone, particularly those in greatest need.

During the past 50 years, the color of the faces of United States of America have dramatically shifted and a balance of social treatment has been legislatured :  Title VII and Civil Rights Act of 1964. However, multiethnic and diversified groups remain worse off than white peers.Family values, cultural heritage and economic issues, histories of discrimination and unusual work opportunities have never been  incorporated into the thinking of persons in powerful positions.
