This live radio program will offer an insight into the Florida Legislative Session that ended on Friday May 6th, 2011 known as Sine Die!

Mr. Sean Shaw, Esquire at The Merlin Law Group and  previous Florida's former Insurance Advocate with the Department of Financial Services Department  along with Mr. John Fox, of the Merlin Law Group will discuss SB 408 property insurance  bill recently passed!

Here's a look at the changes:

Sinkholes: Private insurers still have to cover them - they can, however charge greater than the 10% but I think they still have to go through OIR.

Adjustor limitations -reasonable changes

Mitigation Discounts - GONE

ACV/RCV: For Dwelling, the insurer has to pay the ACV minus deductible. RCV is paid as work occurs, unless total loss of dwelling occurs, then it all gets paid.

Mr. Sean Shaw and Mr. Fox  worked tirelessly on behalf of all property owners in this legislative session to bring to light the anti-consumer legislation bills by forming a state wide coalition that worked together since January 4, 2011 educating the homeowner and legislators on the anti-consumer nature of all legislation in Florida.
