No one ever told me how quickly your marriage tanks when you have young children. Toss in some real life challenges, like a child's life-threatening nut allergy or an in-law's stage 4 cancer diagnosis, and you'll see how quickly things really start to go south.
That was my life last year, when I started a blog to write about the challenges of keeping my marriage afloat while my life fell apart. Even though I knew I wasn't the only one losing my mind, I hardly ever heard others talking about how hard it was to maintain their sanity during difficult times, not to mention their marriages.
But here’s the thing: when you’re a parent, your marriage isn’t just about your relationship. It’s also about your kids, your work, your friends and your extended families, not to mention all the little fires that pop up and need to be put out on a near-daily basis.
