Our Constitution: Foundation and Principles

Warnings from the Constitution Ratifying Debates   ****   

 

As we see our government and our society being turned on its head, the God-given, unalienable rights our forefathers guaranteed to us are being stripped bare.

 

We also see our personal, private economy and the fruits of our labors being undermined and our families and posterity destined to economic slavery. The founders warned of everything we see today in the debates on the ratification of the Constitution. 

 

A prime example, Richard Henry Lee, was not only one of the drafters of the Declaration of Independence, but devoted all his passion and energy to ensure that our God-given, unalienable rights would not be usurped with this new Constitution. 

 

"It cannot be denied, with truth, that this new Constitution is, in its first principles, highly and dangerously oligarchic; and it is a point agreed, that a government of the few is, of all governments, the worst."

 

What we have seen it the formation of an oligarchy, a small group of men and women that, out of greed and avarice, have set themselves above the law, above the Constitution, above the Oath of Office, and even believe that they have the power to control every aspect of your life!

 

Over the next couple of shows, Gerry will highlight some of the writings and speeches that came out of the Debates on the Constitution that were clear warnings that we should never have allowed our government to get this far out of hand!
