It's Not About Right and Left. It's About Right and Wrong!
There is a culture war brewing in Springfield, MO and it's heating up. Recall petitions are being circulated for one city councilman, another councilwoman is under attack, and a recall effort is underway for the city's mayor. Catch the backstory and the details tonight as BTR featured host Dave Cort and his accomplished sidekick Lloyd "The Sloan Ranger" Sloan guide you through the intricacies.
Then, who do YOU think won this week's Republican debate. It's pretty clear who lost.
We'll take your calls on the studio line at 347-677-1835. It all happens tonight at 7PM Missouri Time. It's the best Friday night you'll spend this week.
in Self Help
Janis Foster Richardson is talking with Jan Thrope, Cleveland area photo-journalist, philanthropist, and investor in grassroots possibilities - about the journey from pain to passion to possibilities that began for her at a community forum when a man stood up to share a comment that brought lofty discussions about addressing poverty back to reality.
Hear about the experiences that resulted in Jan's award winning book, Inner Visions: Stories of Truth & Hope, and about Jan's "friends first" approach to resourcing grassroots possibilities.
in Self Help
Janis Foster Richardson is talking with Susan Dobkins, Jane's Fund Program Manager for the Russell Family Foundation in Tacoma, Washington, about growing grassroots leaders. Susan will be sharing information about the Jane's Fellowship Program - what it is, how it works, and what Susan has learned about what it takes to support people along the journey of building their own personal power and skills to make a difference in their home community.
This is my last show with this network. (Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org for updates.) It's been a great run, but it's time to move on.
Three years ago, Gretchen Wallace talked with us about her work with women in developing countries, often in what is euphemistically "post-conflict areas" (also known as what's left when war has ravaged a country).
What she found is that these women don't need us to tell them what to do. What they need is the resources to implement the solutions. She created her Global Grassroots Foundation to provide them those resources so they can create positive change for the women and girls in their community.
In a few weeks, we'll be checking back in with Gretchen for an update, so it's time to replay the original show.
