Barbara Libby received her BA in economics from the University of Chicago, MS in social science and a PhD in applied economics and policy from the School of Management at SUNY Buffalo.  She minored in theoretical economics and organizational behavior.  Her thesis was on a history of Federal Reserve Decision Making.  She may have been the first women to be awarded a PhD by the school of management.  She has applied her interest in decision making to the areas of political business cycles in Canada, the operations of financial institutions in Canada, Mexico and the US  under Nafta, and ethical decision making and the law.  She has done statistical analyses on  the history of women in the economics profession.  She was employed in the commerce department of Niagara University. She taught both undergraduates and graduate students, statistics, operations research and economics. (For some reason unknown to her, the basketball coach had the entire team register for her classes.)  When she retired as a full professor, the first women to attain that rank in the Commerce Department.  Since retirement she has been on the board, as treasurer, of several charity organizations. Dr Libby has spoken about major economic issues and explains all about DACA in this episode.
