When we came into this world we were babes and got alot of training from the enemy of this world . Our parents ,  if they were not Believers , tried in their own strength and wisdom to steer us on the right path . Even with Believing parents , they too  sometimes use the wisdom and power of their own mind and not of the Holy  Spirit's direction . When we recieve the Lord Jesus as our Lord and Savior , He sets us on a course. Each individual course is all mapped out by Him . It is filled with bumps , quick turns , detours , hills and valleys both deep and shallow . Like the Starter at a race , Jesus didn't just fire the starting pistol and then we took off , hoping to find our way . He gave us the Holy Spirit  , who was called to be alongside us , to indwell in us . We are not running this race alone ! The writer of Hebrews 12: 1-2 compared our lives to that of a marathon runner , straining for the prize ahead . We are to run the race with Christ, by following Him to the finish line .
