Christianity 101 " Understanding " Or " Knowing " Our God

John 17:3 says , " And this is eternal life , that they may know You , the only true God , and Jesus Christ whom You have sent  . " There are many things we can understand in our lives with the knowledge we have been blessed with . However we certainly can not understand everything with our finite minds . The infinite and Omicient God knows all things , past  , present , current and future . Our knowledge and understanding doesn't even compare to the knowledge and understanding of God - even when it applies to our own lives . We all are created human beings . We do not have our origins in ourselves , but because of someone else . Yes we are finite , whereas He is infinite . We are in time ; He exists outside of it  . Are you having a hard time understanding the God of this Universe ? Remember we all have limitations and thankfully our God has overcome those limitations by revealing Himself to us . Are we putting to much energy in trying to understand our God and His ways ? God wants us to discover Him , percieve Him , see Him , experience Him through relationship with Him . He wants us to know that we can trust Him .
