Christianity 101"It Cost More Than A Penny For Our Thoughts"

Many of us have been told to  " take Jesus into your hearts " . However the peace of God , which transcends all understanding , will guard not only our hearts but our minds in Christ Jesus ( Philippians 4:7) . Why does the enemy have such a stronghold on the Believer's thoughts ? Haven' t our minds been renewed as well ? The Holy Spirit is given to every Believer . If the mind is the vehicle of the Spirit , isn't it absolutely necessary that the Spirit of God should have full possession of it ? Should not every rebellious thought be brought into captivity to Christ ? Why are many of God 's children unable to hold the truth of God which they hear , or apply it to their lives , or express it to others ? Is it because the mind has never been fully delivered from the grip of the enemy ? Have we recieved new "hearts " , but kept our old "heads" ? Did not someone shed blood on the cross for our body , soul and minds ?
