Did you know that prayer saved the Constituttional Convention, or that the United States Congress printed a Bible to be used in our schools? Neither did I, or probably you - because it didn't happen. But, this is the sort of drivel that is being peddled by those who Chris Rodda refers to as "Christian Nationalists." This Revisionist History is catching on around the co...untry, and if the Dominionist fanatics who are pushing to further infiltrate our halls of government have their way this is precisely the kind of thing that your children will be taught.

Being the "right kind of Christian" in this country is becoming almost a necessity for the average American to be accepted and to succeed as can be witnessed strongly in the United States Military. Our soldiers, regardless of their religion, are often finding themselves captive to the fundamentalist Christian dogma that is being embraced by military leaders in all branches. Many of these soldiers are fighting back and insisting that freedom of religion is their right.

Chris Rodda is someone who never intended to be a writer, but got pissed off enough at the rampant Christian nationalist revisionism of American history that she decided to write a book about it, which somehow led to her "day job" as Senior Research Director for the Military Religious Freedom Foundation. She is also a blogger on the Huffington Post and Talk2Action, writing about historical revisionism, religious issues in the military, and whatever else she feels like writing about.
We, at the Forward Blitz, are proud to present you with our guest, Chris Rodda of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation and author of "Liars For Jesus: The Religious Right's Alternate Version of American History." Please join us for this discussion at 8:00 PM Eastern Time.
