Join Tom English; musician, artist and progressive activist as we discuss the upcoming election day, 2014.

Here's what he had to say during a recent OpEdNews interview:

During the Dennis Kucinich Campaign is when I first started performing my songs. Lila Garrett was in the campaign and I sang for her “Democrats Are Stupid When They Don’t Vote, And Republicans Are Stupid When They Do” and she howled with laughter and asked me to sing it at a fundraiser and it became a regular thing. It was a hard campaign. Both of them.To me, it all feels like one. To see how, at the end, Obama and Hillary were both falling over each other to “prove” who was more passionately against the war, and Dennis was  sitting there able to honestly say “ I was against the war before it started, and p.s. Obama, I never voted to fund it ten times”. People say we can’t elect a progressive president but we have to remember that, although people who read and think could see right through Obama, he was marketed very, very effectively to appeal to a person who does not like war and who has compassion. Turned out, granted, clearly not true, but he was, in fact, presented as a progressive because that is what people really desire.

So, I’ve lived in a lot of different times, at this point, and I think now is a good time. I think a whole majority of us are coming to our senses. There’s a lot of momentum on problem things, but it’s interesting how some good things come quick!
