Today on the Topeka, Ks. statehouse steps the Kansas Equality Coalition will be exercising the First Amendment, after a July crackdown forbidding all groups from carrying flagpoles with their banners.  Gov. Sam Brownback initially scheduled to appear in June today to appear at the Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas with Gov. Rick Perry for a Christian meeting that includes far right wing radio fundamentalists. Brownback seems to be waffling now on attending, according to Salon and the New York Times.

Last weekend at the state capital steps appeared hundreds of teachers and others at a "Save Our Schools" rally.  Today the Kansas Equality Coalition will be there, and next week a scheduled organized rally to "Save Our SRS" is expected.

The question for the day on RFK - where is Gov. Sam Brownback, other than on vacation (as stated according to his press office)?

We'll be monitoring the local news and commenting with some fun about this and more Kansas issues today on Saturday High Noon.

This is a live call-in show, those with comments are welcome.
