The weekly show Unwelcome Guests is produced from New York and plays on several community radio stations. It is available from the A-Info Radio Projects as well as many other broadcast quality programs.
From the A-Infos Radio Project mission statement: We exist to be an alternative to the corporate and government media which do not serve struggles for liberty, justice and peace, nor enable the free expression of creativity. The archived material is available to anyone who wants it free of charge.
From the program summary: The latest episode #554 looks at 'human needs' - a concept so deep as to go largely unquestioned by the ideologues of economics and economic development. We start with a reading from an anthropology professor which challenges ideas of 'primitive' people's poverty, before some of an essay by Illich on "Needs". In our second hour, some easier listening - a radio adaptation of a film on consumerism, Shop Til You Drop. The show runs 2hours.
