FHS’ Race Trim MotorSports Hour #49

We contemplated calling today’s Race Trim MotorSports Hour simply “The Smoke Show” as it seemed Tony Stewart was the only story in town, and The Frat House Sports Gang in the garage are all over it!

But they’re looking back at Carl Edwards dominance at Bristol Motor Speedway. When Edwards couldn’t get to do a backflip at Texas, he made damn sure he did at Bristol! Aside from Edwards, JGR drivers did show they have flaws, or at least their tires did.

Then it’s on to the Tony Stewart story, and “Smoke” rose this week with a fury and vengeance. Tony announced he was returningt at RIR. That prompted NASCAR to immediately grant him an exemption. Tony issued some stern comments about the recent lug nut issues. That prompted a NASCAR finey. THAT prompted many of his fellow drivers to stand-up for him. THAT prompted NASCAR officials to say, “wait, we’ll rethink the lug nuts.” Man oh man . . . what a mess . . . and how stupid NASCAR looks!

We’ll talk Richmond International Raceway though and what we can expect. We’ll also get an NHRA update as we’re 4-wide racing today in North Carolina. Sidekick’s got some Fantasy NASCAR recommendations for today; and, it’s getting VERY competitive on the Frat House Sports’ Eat-My-Dust Winners Pick leaderboard particularly after last week.
