TWMS Power & Purpose With 7 Time NHRA Champ Tony Schumacher

    in Automotive

What goes together better than cars, drinking, and laughs?....What?.... Oh well actually our lawyers are saying that came out wrong....

How about just kicking back and talking about cars and the car-guy's world while enjoying a stiff drink, or tasty brew?  Ok we've been told that's better.  We will attempt to cover all of those bases in this weekly show where we present to you as much probably less-than-factual news, reviews, and updates on stuff car guys care about!

This week in our 99th TWMS episode; we discuss two great new "halo cars" from a couple of the most iconic performance brands! Following that we're joined by one of drag racing's most famous drivers.  NHRA 7 time champion Tony Schumacher takes a break from the ultra-competitive world of Top Fuel drag racing to shoot the S with us.  He gives us a first class look at what it's taken to become the winningest Top Fuel dragster driver in history, and reminds us it's just a Sunday drive compared to those who support him and fight for us all in the US Army.  Check him out at http://www.NHRA.com  Thanks for downloading & enjoy the show!

Gearheards: NHRA drag racing star Tina Stull

    in Automotive

SEATTLE, November 12, 2014 — Cancer survivor, mother and drag racer, Tina Stull has pretty much done it all. She started racing in 2002 but was soon diagnosed with terminal cancer. Tina says:

“In 2002, I was diagnosed with terminal cancer and was told I had three years to live“

“I had to make some decisions about what I wanted to do with the time I had left. I decided that racing was one of the things I had been putting on the back burner but something I really wanted to do.“

Tina now spends her time racing in the Super Comp Dragster circuit and helping motivate people to overcome obstacles in their lives as a motivational speaker. She has also created "Team Troops", a support group for the fine men and women in our armed forces. Tina said, “I really appreciate the Soldiers who serve, because the job they do allows me to do what I do,” she said. “My getting to drive race cars is entertainment. People in the military are changing history. It’s important that when they go out to do their job, they know they are fully supported here at home.“

Join your hosts, Greg Sanchez and Duane Pemberton as they have Tina Stull live, on the air this coming Friday at 5pm EST.

The Race Trim MotorSports Hour #32

    in Sports

NASCAR is enjoying a weekend in the mountains (again) as the Sprint Cup Series competes at Pocono Raceway, and the guys in the Frat House Sports Garage are pouring over the "data" to help you get into "Race Trim", Sunday morning, beginning at 11 am.

7 weeks ago it was Martin Truex Jr solving all the angles of the "Tricky Triangle", but a lot has changed since then. Kyle Busch has managed a staggering 4 victories over 5 of those 7 weeks and is looking to spoil Truex Jr's bid for a Pocono "sweep". With all eyes on Busch to tie a record (win a 4th consecutive race?), at least 2 past Pocono winners, Jeff Gordon and Tony Stewart, are racing against time to secure their claim in the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

Also under the hood this week: major changes are coming for MWR which might spell the end of the iconic team; SHR states that a contract extension for fan-favorite Danica Patrick is going to happen; "Frat House" Mike will bring an NHRA update from Sonoma Raceway and Sidekick will offer the best possible roster with his NASCAR Fantasy Picks.

Stop by the Garage and have your morning coffee with hosts "Uncle"Mark & "Crew Chief" Brandon for great "wheel chatter" and bring along YOUR comments to: 347-826-9964, Sunday morning, 11 am (edt) !!
