Kathleen Tedsen and Beverlee Rydel. Kat and Bev continue their search into the world of the paranormal with their second book, Haunted Travels of Michigan, Volume II. This follows the success of their first, Haunted Travels of Michigan that received the 2009 IPPA Award for "Best Paranormal/Educational Book and Authors." Over the past two years the authors have traveled more than 10,000 miles. They have been on scores of investigations to find ten of Michigan’s most fascinating stories for their new book. Kat and Bev are not new to writing. Since 1991 they have authored the Michigan Vacation Guide series. It was placed on the Secretary of State’s “Read Michigan” list in 1995 and remains one of Michigan’s most comprehensive publications on unique places to stay in the state. With their new paranormal book series the authors approach each investigation with a skeptics eye. To Bev and Kat it’s more than just the haunting, but the history of the location and lives of the people from the past that create the haunting. The authors want to share their investigative experiences with the reader and take them into the ghost hunt. To accomplish this, each story contains a password that allows access to Secret Rooms on their website. In the Secret Room readers can see photographs, video and audio of evidence collected during the investigation and behind-the-scenes of the hunt. Over the years Kat and Bev have been featured guests on numerous radio shows and television shows, including PBS TV’s Michigan Magazine. They have also been guest speakers at various paranormal conferences. In addition, their speaking engagements include presentations at libraries, charitable events and historic locations across the state. The authors began their paranormal journey as skeptics. Today they know that in many cases there is something out there that cannot be explained. Something paranormal. They continue their search into the unknown.
